Deste is designed for privacy: your documents stay on your machine.

Everything stays local

• The capture server only listens on localhost (your own computer). Your print jobs never go anywhere over the network.
• Captured documents are stored as PDFs in a folder on your computer (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Deste\captured).
• Preview and printing are produced entirely locally with pdfium.

No network, no account

Deste has no account, sign-in, cloud sync, or telemetry. It sends no data to the internet. It needs no connection to work.

Control over your data

• To delete a document entirely, just remove its PDF from the capture folder.
• Only you decide which documents and pages print.
• Deste refuses to print to its own printer, preventing unexpected re-capture (a loop).
